Riphoto, at its first edition, is a photographic exhibition organised in the territory of Rivarolo Canavese (Turin), that will take place in september 2020.

The theme of the first edition, Beyond the image, is an attempt to focus on those artists who interpret the medium and the photographic language freely. The artists involved overtake the conception of photography, as a reproduction and/or an interpretation of the real and the visible: they process it, distort it and rebuild it. Images themselves are also part of a process: they are combined, superimposed and modifyied or they came from an appropriation of other people’s photographs.
Riphoto would be a platform of analysis, exchange and dialogue with artists for whom photographic practice, in all its declinations, is an instrument that is a part of an argument, without the enclosure of the origin and the conclusion.

In Villa Vallero‘s space the main exhibition will be hosted, with works of Luca Baioni, Fabio Bix, Oscar Brum, Francesco Capponi, Claudia Corrent, Virginia Dal Magro, Charlie Davoli, Gennifer Deri, Chiara Dondi, Matteo Suffritti, Valeria Secchi and Anna Skoromnaya.

The special section Pop UP(h) will be in the new City Hall exhibition space (via Ivrea 42): the project “Dopo la fotografia” curated by the artist and professor Silvia Bigi will unfold through five exhibitions each lasting a weekend, dedicated to the artists Francesca Artoni, Veronica Benedetti, Roberta Casadei, Nicolò Ferrario and Valentina Vannelli.

The exhibition is part of the Young Curators project, throw which Areacreativa42 wants to be a formative space for future professionists of the world of art.

As part of Riphoto, talks, workshops and didactical activities for schools will be offered to create a connection between the territory and the artists involved.
A program of photographic artist residences will be linked to Riphoto (more info).
