Daniel Gay was born in 1960 in Torre Pellice (Turin) where he lives and works.
In 1983 he completed his studies in painting at the Albertina Accademy of Arts in Turin , where, since 1985, he had been taught techniques of engraving and since 2000 also had been held the course for the graphic art of painting on paper.
Since 1980, after the exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, presented by L. Carluccio and CL Ragghianti , has exhibited in numerous Italian cities and abroad. Since 1984 he collaborated on the restoration of the matrices in the Archives of the State, from 1986 with the Museum of Modern Art in Turin and from 1999 with the National Museum of the Risorgimento.
In addition to the preparation of numerous presentations for exhibitions of other artists, he collaborated to write Masters of Italian 900. The etching, dictionary of signs ( Masoero , Torino 1993). Reported by A. Dragone in 1984 in the Bolaffi catalogue.

In addition to numerous important exhibitions, his works have been acquired by “Intergrafik Museum in Berlin” , “Civic Collection of Art ” Bertarelli “in Milan , “Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna” in Turin , “Gallery of Modern Art of Mantua”, ” National Museum of Villa Croce” in Genoa , “National Library” in Warsaw, “International Museum of Graphic” in Maastricht, “Prints of Liege and the Museum of Modern Art”, “MoMA” in New York.
