The extraordinary quality of the ordinary architecture is the annual premium to the quality of design and construction established by the Order of Architects of the Province of Turin in 2011, that is now in its eighth edition, and since 2004 have been awarded 82 buildings, including 51 in Turin and 31 scattered in more than 300 municipalities in the province.

The aim of the initiative, in addition to recognize the skills and professional commitment of architects, is to introduce and give visibility to works that, through a careful planning and a consistent interpretation achievement, contribute to the improve the quality of the environment built by stimulating, through observation and comparison, the critical capacity of those who, while not being an insider, use the architecture on a daily basis .

They are therefore covered by the award of the works designed by architects from all backgrounds , as long as implemented in the territory of the province of Turin. According to the notice of the award, the works may be nominated by anyone and are selected by a jury composed of 15 registered architects OAT that lasts two years. On the facade of the architecture is installed awarded a plaque bearing the logo of the award , the names of the authors of the project and the year of creation.

The exhibition was on display in Turin in Piazza Carignano in July 2009 with the founding of museums in Turin and in the October 2010, was exhibited at the Centro Cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires, with the title “Architecture Revealed in Buenos Aires in the year of the Bicentennial of the ‘ independence of Argentina “, thanks to the contribution of the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin .

The exhibition in Rivarolo at Casa Toesca from 17 to 25 September 2011 shows all the winning projects in the eight editions in an exhibition curated by the Group Architects & Canavese Valle d’Aosta , presented in July in Chivasso, as a part of Architecture first festival in the city organized by the Order of Architects of Turin and Torino Foundation of Architects .

The event was born from the purposes of Areacreativa42 and of the GEC , in the belief that we cannot talk about art without talking about architecture.

The Group Architects & Canavese Valle d’Aosta ( GAC) was founded in 2011 by the union of the Association of Young Architects of the Canavese , active since 1995, with some young fellow Valle d’Aosta.
